A little about Monica...
I'm Monica Jackson. I was born in Ft. Hood , TX and lived in Killeen until I was 7 before moving to the Mid-Cities, where I still reside. When I was younger, I was into gymnastics and loved being outdoors. As a teenager in high school, I liked to do a little of everything, including dancing in 10 th grade for Trinity High School . I loved dancing and being in the public eye, but the next year I felt the urge to go back to gymnastics. It was something I had been doing since I was 5, and I wasn't ready to give it up. Although I really enjoyed it, I wanted to do something different my last year, so I tried out for and became a cheerleader. It was fun for me because it combined my two original loves of dance and gymnastics. After graduation, I decided to attend college, but I just wasn't ready to go to school at that point. I stopped taking classes and got a job in a frame shop, and that's where my life started to change.
Through my job at the frame shop, I met Jackson, who is now my husband. He inspired me to work out and keep in shape, and I began to really focus on the gym and fashion. I never thought about pursuing modeling because I thought that I was too short. Well, I guess I was wrong. The first thing I ever tried out for was "Wild On." They were holding auditions in Dallas for a new show host and I went after the job. Not knowing what to expect, I was obviously very nervous. After interviewing with three people, I got a callback that same day - great news, but now I had to go to Round 2. Let's just say that's as far as I made it. I was just camera shy. Even though the audition didn't work out for me, I had no plans to give up, and before long, I got a job modeling for a Greek calendar. I had a good time working on my first shoot and knew right away that this was what I wanted to do. As time went by, I tried out for the Hometown Hottie Search for "Maxim Magazin." I made it as a semifinalist and was pictured in the magazine along with 99 other girls. Even though it was a small picture, it was my first exposure in a magazine and a great opportunity to add to my portfolio. In 2003, I decided to try out for "Fear Factor." My husband and I made the show and won the competition. That truly changed my life forever. A photographer from "People" that shot me in my wedding dress helped me land some ad work with "Coors." The work itself was fun and a great way to make money, and from there I decided to pursue more print work. Being in Playboy has always been a dream of mine, and thanks to the show, my dream came true. I will be pictured along with one of my good friends from the show, Meghan. The shoot was a great experience, and I can't wait to see what else comes from it. Jackson and I later appeared on "Larry King Live" and had the best time. Everything is going great in my life and I can't wait to see what's going to happen next.
